Important note (recommended printer setup)
Before using printing features, configure your printer profiles in System → Printers. For best results, set up three dedicated printers:
Thermal receipt printer: for printing movement receipts (receiving/issuing documents).
Label printer: for printing barcode/QR labels for SKUs.
A4 report printer: for printing documents and reports (PDF exports, logs, summaries).
The Printers screen lets administrators create and manage printer profiles used across Stockra. Printer profiles define where and how different outputs are printed (receipts, labels, and A4 reports). This ensures each document type is routed to the correct device without manual re-selection each time.
Where you find it
Administration → System → Printers
What you see on this page
Left panel (filters)
Search: find a printer profile by name.
Usage: filter by printer purpose (e.g., Reports, Labels, Receipts).
Status: filter by active/disabled profiles.
Reset: clears filters.
Printer cards (main area)
Each printer profile card typically shows:
Printer name (e.g., Thermal POS, Label Printer, Audit T)
Usage: what this printer is used for (Reports / Labels / Receipts)
Connection type:
Network (for network printers)
Local (for a local device)
Virtual (for queue-based/driver-based printing)
Connection details (example shown: network address or device name)
Profile: paper/format preset (examples shown):
A4 / Letter – 96 DPI (reports)
Label 50 × 25 mm – 300 DPI (labels)
Thermal receipt 80 mm – 250 DPI (receipts)
Status badges:
Active: profile is enabled and can be used
Default: used automatically for its usage type
Primary action
Add printer: creates a new printer profile.
How “Usage” and “Default” work
Usage tells the system what type of output the printer should handle (Reports, Labels, Receipts).
Default determines which printer is automatically selected for that usage across the system.
Example: If “Thermal POS” is Default for Receipts, movement receipts will print to it by default.
Typical workflow (recommended configuration)
Create a Reports printer (A4/Letter) and set it as Default for Reports.
Create a Labels printer (label size + high DPI) and set it as Default for Labels.
Create a Receipts printer (thermal 80mm) and set it as Default for Receipts.
Test printing from:
Movement log / movement document (receipt)
Label printing (labels)
Export center / reports (A4 documents)
Best practices
Name printers by location and purpose (e.g., “Front Desk Thermal”, “Warehouse Labels”, “Back Office Reports”).
Keep separate profiles per usage to avoid printing a receipt on A4 paper or labels on a thermal printer.
Use higher DPI profiles for labels to improve barcode/QR scan reliability.
